Blackening

Blackening or Parkerising the surface of steel produces an attractive dark appearance that helps to protect against corrosion. Our blackening process is a “cold dip”, where the solution can be used at room temperature. After blackening, an additional dip in oil is carried out.

This process will chemically blacken cast iron and steels containing 10% chromium or less.
